நட்சத்திரம் நகர்கிறது

 Expected a Novel, turned out to be a good newspaper at best, Can you be fiercely individualistic but preach on universal love ? If you hang on to the past can you love freely in the present ? Can you stay a knowledge  supremacist but still write lectures on how to Love ? Can you utter words above words on Love, making it pale , a poor memory of our referential verbalised past and Wonder at love ?   Ranjith tries to swim in ocean and a well at the same time . He could not breach on screen, the fortresses he himself has created in the process of making this movie about love.

Is not love entirely thing of the present where time and experiencer cease to exist ? Is there an other in Love ?  Ranjith s constant glare on the other or his inclination to express himself as a reaction to the other creates two sets of people,one set of converts who apologise being on the wrong till that point and embrace and join hands ,two set of non converts who play as  the constant convenient villain, as idealised by any liberal, in Creating  disturbances throughout. This indulgence to glare at, as the other, minimises the possibility of Communion and flowering of love. Love in brief moments appear in the film keeps us floating only to be pulled down by Individual Self Assertion,Chained Past, Knowledge Supremacy and Empty Verbalization.

ஒரு நாவலை எதிர்பார்த்து சென்றவனுக்கு நல்ல நாளிதழ் வாசிக்கக் கிடைத்தது போல். தீவிர தன்முனைப்புடன் இருக்கையில் தீவிர காதலில் இருக்க முடியுமா ? பழையதை விடாது பிடித்துக் கொண்டே இருக்கும் ஒருவர் காதல் தருணங்களில் தன்னை மறக்க இயலுமா ? புத்தக அறிவை அறிந்தவை குறித்த பெருமிதம் தொனிக்கும் ஒருவன் "நான்" கரையும் காதல் பாடங்கள் எடுக்க இயலுமா ? வார்த்தைகள் மீது வார்த்தைகள் அடுக்கி காதலை மிகவும் பழைய நலிந்த வார்த்தைகளால் விவரித்து சொல்பவன் காதலின் மௌன அற்புதத்தை உணர்ந்திருப்பானா ?

கிணற்றிலும் சமுத்திரத்திலும் ஒரே நேரத்தில் நீந்துவது போன்ற பாவனை எடுபடுமா ?  காதல் குறித்த இந்தப்  படம் வளர்கையில்,  உண்டாகிய கோட்டைகள் தகர்க்கப் படவில்லை. காதல் இக்கோட்டைகளின் சிறையில் இருந்து மீளவில்லை. 

காதல் ஒரு தனிப்பெரும் கருணை, காலமும்  அனுபவிப்பனும் கரைந்து இல்லாது ஆகும் அற்புதம் காதல். காதலில் இன்னொருவர் என்று ஒருவர் இருக்க முடியுமா ? ரஞ்சித் இன் பெரும்பாலான படங்களில்  "இன்னொருவர்" என்பவர் குறித்தே பெரும்பாலான உரையாடல் கட்டமைக்க படுகிறது. இந்த இன்னொருவரில் இரு பிரிவினர், ஒன்று தவறுகளுக்கு வருந்தி மன்னிப்புக்கு மன்றாடும் பிரிவினர், இரண்டு, தவறு எதுவும் நிகழவில்லை எப்போதும் போல் இனியும் தொடரும் என்ற பிரிவினர், இரண்டாமவர் லிபேரல்களின் "கனவு வில்லன்". படத்தின் பெரும்பாலான உரையாடல் இவ்விரு பிரிவினரை குறித்தே அமைந்து விடுவதால், நேர்மறையான காதல் குறித்து உரையாட மிகவும் குறைவான நேரமே அமைகிறது. காதல் குறித்த அற்புதமான தருணங்கள் ஆங்காங்கே இருந்தாலும் , தீவிர தன்முனைப்பு, பழையவற்றுடன் நம்மை பிணைக்கும் இறுக்கமான சங்கிலிகள், நம் புத்தக சிற்றறிவு குறித்த காலிப் பெருமிதம், இவையோடு நம் சோகையான தேய்வழக்குகளில்  வார்த்தைகளில் காதலை விளக்க முற்படுகையில், காதல் முழுமையாக மலர்வதில்லை. காதலில் இன்னொருவர் இல்லை, காதல் மட்டுமே உள்ளது.
